Tanzania - Human/Elephant Conflict Mitigation
In Africa it is hard sometimes to have elephants as neighbors. They can damage crops and houses, injure people, and destroy livelihoods.
We partner with Lameck Mkuburo of the Tanzania Elephant Foundation (TEF) to help minimize this conflict.
Together we are installing beehive fences for community income sustainability and protection from marauding elephants.
Elephants hate bees!
Our endeavors here include participating in community programs to stop poaching for ivory.
Nepal - Conservation Honey in Bardia National Park
We first utilized bees for income sustainability with our Chepang community to help alleviate the pressure of rhino poaching in Chitwan National Park. KACF is providing beehives to families suffering due to wildlife conflict. The beehvices provide a sustainable income for those families.
Nirajan Chhetri is our conservation partner with this project and works with the children who have lost parents due to human/wildlife conflict.
