Each year my mask takes on a life of its own and turns out different from what I pictured when starting. Going with my practice of only using art supplies I already have, the colors and paints are not always planned. For Geometric Joy I was originally inspired by Huichol art, with bright, colorful, designs. Geometric Joy took over 30 hours to create. Much like my masks of year's past, the finished design became something more joyful than I imagined.
