Venetian Eyes
would you like to see infrared
and ultraviolet, the advertisement asked
so I had my eyes replaced
with Venetian glass
and saw how daisies are really
spirits of children's smiles
orchids really were
the lost dream-poems of poets
and cats are angels
to drunks and bourgeoisie
I saw microwaves playing
with a pacemaker
and gamma rays tickling
the sun and planets
when I see you again
