Train with Sunnyside parent Mestra Marcia Cigarra (Caio, 2nd Grade), Capoeira veteran and role model for Brazilian, immigrant, women and girls, and LGBTQIA+ populations. Abada-Capoeira San Francisco works to preserve, develop, and share the martial art of Capoeira with integrity, and to use Capoeira to build a healthy, just, and vibrant society in which people feel connected to and responsible for their community.

Classes build physical, artistic, and social skills. Working independently, in partners, and as a group, students learn basic Capoeira movements, practical application of these movements, and how to “play” Capoeira using the movements in improvisational games with each other. Within the Capoeira class structure, youth are also introduced to maculelê, a traditional Brazilian folk dance performed with sticks.

Get moving with these 4 youth class passes at their studio in the Mission District.

Valid until December 2026.
