As I've grown through the past couple of years, I have realized how much my life is dominated by fear. This fear causes me to cling tighter to the illusion of control. I have learned that this way of functioning is limited. My goal for the future is to practice Release and Surrender. I hope to move through the next phases of my life from a place of abundance and serenity honoring the present moment. My mask represents my Release and Surrender journey. It was created using a technique called Raku. The beauty of this process is you are unsure how your finished piece will turn out in the end and to create a beautiful piece carries an associated risk. Through this process, I was reminded of the beautiful things that are only created when you Release and Surrender.
