My mask is inspired by identity creation and perception: the wonder, delight, and fear that comes with putting yourself out there and being known. I wanted to capture the feeling of emergence through development and the performances we put on to protect ourselves. I also just like eyes in art.
As a fortune cookie once told me “Life is not a struggle, it’s a wiggle.” And wiggling is a fabulous dance move.
