This piece is a story of community, of recognizing differences and not only accepting them, but celebrating them with our neighbors. In this strange timeline of governments trying to turn us against one another, encouraging us to fear and despise others who appear differently, I hope this piece encourages you to speak up for those marginalized and to not stay silent when you see cruelty taking place around you. At the end of the day, no matter how different we may be, we are all human, and we all deserve to feel loved, supported, and seen. Silence is compliance - Be the resistance.
