In the process of making this mask, there were multiple detours where the vision didn't translate to the production. The mask that you see is very different from three prior versions. Eventually, and little by little, the sequence of exploring alternate approaches finally came together. Sometimes life is like that too. Our vision for what lies ahead gets detoured, offering the opportunity to learn and shift. As the mask was being finished, I was reminded that I find connection in the creative process, evidenced strongly in this mask, as well as in nature, the subject of many of my photographs including those that end up in my mask designs.
