Topography is the accurate representation of the physical features of an area - its hills, valleys, rivers. I stumbled upon a topo map related to a different project and discovered the inspiration for this mask. My goal was to emulate the art of topographical maps and their use of lines, colors, and patterns, while showcasing and stylizing the beauty and striking terrain of the human face.
